Chocolate Chip Pie
Chocolate chip pie is the favorite at our house. It’s rich, loaded with chocolate, and very easy to make. I always make a double recipe!
For 1 pie you will need:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
1 prepared 9″ pie crust (look in the dairy section)
Step 1
Using a mixer, combine flour and sugar
Step 2
Mix in eggs and butter
Step 3
Add vanilla
Step 4
Roll the room-temperature pie crusts into the pie dish. Center it. Then roll and crimp the edges.
Step 5
Sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips into the bottom of the pie crust. Add the sugar/butter mixture spreading it evenly over the chocolate chips.
Step 6
Bake at 350* for 40-45 minutes. The time will vary with your chosen pan. An aluminum pan will take longer to bake maybe 50 minutes. It’s done when a butter knife slid into the center comes out clean. After 40 minutes if it’s not done place a piece of aluminum foil over the top to prevent the crust from getting too brown.
Step 7
Let the pie cool. It’s delicious warm or cold. Serve with Redi-whip, Cool Whip, or ice cream.
